The ULC team is dedicated to keeping our customers, suppliers and local community up to date on the status of our company’s operations during this challenging time.
On March 23rd, the Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Charlie Baker, issued an emergency order requiring all businesses and organizations that do not provide “COVID-19 Essential Services” to close their physical workplaces and facilities to workers, customers and the public. This emergency order went into effect as of Tuesday, March 24th, 2020 at 12:00pm EST until April 7th, 2020 at 12:00pm EST.
ULC has been declared an essential business and will remain open and operating at normal capacity.
However, ULC has taken further precautions to enable those employees that can continue operating remotely to do so, such as our sales office staff and various other administrative functions. Meanwhile, ULC will be implementing social distancing protocols as necessary based on the advice and guidance of the Department of Public Health in order to ensure the safety of our production staff that will remain working at the facility.
The categories of COVID-19 essential services have been defined as:
- Health Care & Public Health
- Law Enforcement, Public Safety & First Responders
- Food & Agriculture
- Critical Manufacturing
- Transportation
- Energy
- Water & Wastewater
- Public Works
- Communications & Information Technology
