Over the last seven years at ULC, Samantha Briggs has shown incredible reliability and determination. Samantha has always been consistent in her strive for excellence, and when she was given an opportunity for advancement, she rose to the occasion. An immense amount of pressure and responsibility was placed on her shoulders, and through it all, Samantha made the company proud.
Samantha Briggs earned the trust of the entire team, and for her efforts, we are proud to announce her promotion to ULC’s Sales and Marketing Manager.
Early Life
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Samantha spent her early years growing up in the Rutland and Holden area. She later attended Wachusett Regional High School, which she graduated from in January 2008.
Seeking independence after graduating, Samantha left home to start building a skill set that could provide for her. At 18, she enrolled in a trade school to study Cosmetology, and she was able to earn her license within seven months.
After trade school, Samantha transitioned to Quinsigammond Community College in Central Massachusettes, where she studied business administration. While enrolled, she was working as a hair stylist and interning as an office clerk for Reliant Medical Group. In 2011, Samantha graduated with an Associate’s degree in Business Administration—upon reaching this milestone, Samantha applied at various businesses hoping for a stable office position.
Beginnings and Advancement at ULC
Samantha first joined ULC as a temp in January 2012, working as a Customer Service Representative. The majority of her time was dedicated to data entry and assisting the office manager whenever possible. Samantha excelled quickly, becoming a full-time employee in April 2012.
Once she became full time, Samantha began learning the art of the customer service representative role, including order entry and technical quoting. She continued gaining experience and was promoted to Inside Sales Representative in November 2015, and later became a full-fledged Sales Representative in May 2016, which incorporated outside travel to trade shows and customer facilities.
Company Values
Never straying from a challenge, Samantha undertook all aspects of planning our 100th year celebration (2016), which included a formidable marketing campaign. She demonstrated her level of organization and proved how much responsibility she could truly handle.
Samantha was promoted again in July 2017, becoming Senior Sales and Marketing Representative. She shouldered the burden of managing employees, all day to day sales office functions, planning trade show events, and hiring new talent while the Director of Sales and Marketing was away on medical leave.
Away from Work
In her free time, Samantha loves to travel and absorb as much warm weather as possible. She started going on cruises around the time of her 21st birthday; she opted for cruising because it’s the easiest way to see the world for the best price and least hassle!
Her most memorable trip was to Europe in 2016. She flew to Germany to meet with a ULC customer, and then hopped over to Barcelona to board a cruise ship. On the trip, she was able to see Spain, Italy, France, Greece, and Croatia—her personal highlight. Samantha currently lives with her long-time boyfriend, both of whom enjoy traveling and the cultural interactions it entails.
We are very excited to have Samantha leading our Sales and Marketing Team into the future, and we have high expectations for what she will accomplish over the coming years. Samantha’s attention to detail and ability to deliver results under pressure has made her a valuable asset and great teammate. We are very proud to have her on our team!
